Prep Is Non-Negotiable

Washing, sanding, patching, and caulking before any paint goes on. Most of a great paint job happens before the can is opened.

Walkthrough & Colour Selection

Free site visit, written scope and quote. Colour consultation support if you want it — including samples on your actual walls under your actual lighting.

Protection & Masking

Floors covered, fixtures masked, furniture moved or wrapped. Exterior: landscaping, windows, and hardware protected before any prep starts.

Surface Preparation

Wash, sand, patch, and caulk. Loose or failing old paint is removed, not painted over. Glossy surfaces are scuffed for adhesion.

Priming

The correct primer for each surface, applied as a full coat — not spot-primed where it's convenient. Scuff-sand between primer and finish.

Two Finish Coats

First coat dries fully and is checked under raking light. Second coat delivers the depth of colour that separates professional from DIY.

Touch-Up & Walkthrough

Touch-ups completed, protection removed, hardware reinstalled, site cleaned. You walk every room with us before we call it done.

On new drywall: one primer coat plus two finish coats minimum. On previously painted surfaces: primer where needed plus two finish coats. We never do single-coat finishes — the second coat fills the holidays missed in the first and produces the depth of colour that makes a paint job look professional. We use premium products that genuinely cover in two coats rather than budget paint that needs four.
FAIME specifies premium Benjamin Moore and Sherwin-Williams products on every project. Low-VOC and zero-VOC lines are available for bedrooms, nurseries, and occupied homes. We don't use discount product — better paint covers better, lasts longer, and holds its colour, which costs you less over the life of the finish.
Roughly May through October, depending on the year. Exterior paint needs surface and air temperatures above the product's minimum (typically 10°C) and a dry window for curing. We schedule exterior work around the weather and will tell you honestly if a requested date is too early or too late in the season to deliver a finish that lasts.
Yes — including colour-matched semi-gloss on exterior columns, trim, fascia, and stucco so repairs blend seamlessly into existing surfaces. One honest caveat: heavily aged or sun-faded paint may require repainting the full wall or section to achieve a truly invisible result. We'll tell you which situation you have before we start.
Yes — painting and refinishing of existing cabinets, including proper degreasing, sanding, bonding primer, and sprayed or brushed finish coats. Note that FAIME paints and refinishes existing cabinetry; we don't build or install new cabinets.
